Overview:

Project Manager – Data Management & Data Platform Delivery

We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead and coordinate enterprise data management initiatives across our modern cloud data platform. This role is focused on execution, delivery, and cross-team coordination for data-centric work, including platform modernization, data quality and governance enablement, and vendor-led delivery.

This is not a traditional application PM role. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience managing data engineering, data platform, or analytics programs and is comfortable operating in technically complex environments.

Core Focus of the Role

• Manage data management and data platform workstreams, including data integration, data quality, governance, testing, and platform enablement initiatives
• Own delivery across internal teams and external vendors (system integrators, consultants)
• Drive execution against defined architecture standards, delivery gates, and operating models
• Ensure work is planned, sequenced, tracked, and delivered on time and within scope

What This PM Will Be Responsible For

• Managing end-to-end delivery of data initiatives (planning ? execution ? release)
• Coordinating work across data engineering, data management, platform engineering, architecture, and BI teams
• Managing vendor, deliverables, milestones, and dependencies
• Translating high-level data strategy and architecture into actionable delivery plans
• Tracking risks, dependencies, and impediments across multiple data workstreams
• Supporting and enforcing delivery gates, readiness reviews, and operational handoffs
• Driving clarity around scope, ownership, timelines, and outcomes

Required Experience (High-Level)

• 5+ years of project or program management experience, with a strong preference for data, analytics, or platform initiatives
• Demonstrated experience managing technical delivery teams (data engineers, architects, platform teams)
• Experience working with cloud data platforms (e.g., AWS, data warehouses, ETL/ELT tools)
• Strong experience managing vendors and system integrators
• Comfortable working in Jira/Confluence-based delivery environments
• Ability to operate in a fast-moving, evolving data organization

Nice-to-Have Background

• Experience with data management domains (data quality, governance, metadata, lineage, testing)
• Familiarity with modern data architectures (data lake / warehouse, medallion patterns)
• Insurance, financial services, or other regulated-industry experience
• Exposure to Agile / hybrid delivery models in data organizations

• Internal teams and vendors are aligned on scope, expectations, and timelines
• Leadership has clear visibility into delivery status, risks, and dependencies
• Data platform and data management work moves forward with less friction and fewer surprises
