  • Purpose:
  • The Test Automation Engineering Lead will work with the Quality Engineering Manager to transform testing into a continuous and efficient end-to-end quality engineering function.
  • This role is responsible for managing and leading the adoption of more predictive and intelligent testing approaches based on automation and innovative testing solutions.
  • This role also provides the opportunity to work and learn with the larger Software Engineering and Business teams to identify requirements that drive defect identification and resolution across non-production and production environments.
  • Providing support and coordination of the overall Software Development Lifecycle process in this way requires attention to detail and a customer-focused approach to ensure that the IT organization effectively addresses needs

  • Duties:
  • Collaborate with managers and architects to design and implement an enterprise test strategy for test automation and take responsibility in leading the execution.
  • Lead and perform test automation development to produce well-designed automation that satisfies quality, business and functional requirements.
  • Hands-on design and implementation of automated test suites through a coordinated plan where you are a participant in the overall success of the plan.
  • Develop and coach others on the types and value of test automation engineering.
  • Foster the development of testing methods and the implementation of these methods to achieve expansion of test coverage overall, regression suits, repeatable data collection/population, and the optimization of performance via best practices.
  • Identify and inventory the quality testing architecture and use cases that contributes to an overall and effective software quality program.
  • Keep current with testing architecture technologies through planning and coordination with the larger team.
  • Be the champion of the integration of quality testing into the overall Software Development Lifecycle processes.
  • Lead analysts and engineers to identify process improvement opportunities, then propose improved quality testing governance and strategies to architects and management.
  •  Develop and maintain process and systems for continuous monitoring of performance across applications.
  • Serve as subject matter expert in backend performance and application performance monitoring.
  • Lead the execution of a consistent cadence of releasable test code following best practices related to Continuous Integration principals.
  • Perform and direct refactoring on identified quality issues related to corrupted data, application errors, while working with Software Engineering to identify defects due to human error.
  • Document, validate, and communicate test automation requirements including data needs and flows across all components under development to technical members of an Agile team.

    • Software quality testing design, practice and adaptability
    This job requires certain knowledge, skills, and abilities as follows:
    • Strong understanding of software quality test automation and frameworks.
    • Expertise in designing and implementing automated test scripts and frameworks.
    • Proficiency with backend performance and application performance monitoring.
    • Hands-on experience with test automation tools: Selenium, Junit, LambdaTest, Grafana Labs.
    • Solid knowledge of Java, JavaScript, CSS, and SQL.
    • Understanding of Agile development methodologies.
    • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
    • Preferred experience with AWS Cloud Services, Typescript, DataDog, LaunchDarkly, Okta,and Storybook.
    • Preferred experience with OneInc., SmartComm and Appian services.
    • Strong analytical skills to elicit, document, validate, and communicate business and technical requirements that create an effective test case and test plan.
    • Experience in audit requirements to ensure these needs are addresses by the Quality program within IT.
