Global initiatives to transform the electric power grid with solar and wind increasingly depend on battery technology to stabilize and dispatch power to users on demand. The market for BESS has never been stronger with market growth predictions up to 30% CAGR through 2030.

Our client is a global industry leader in the manufacturing, solutions development and delivery of innovative Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) technology and systems for the Grid. Well financed, experiencing strong growth and as such hiring for a number of key positions.

 

Position Overview
The Senior Project Manager will be responsible for managing project deliverables to design, procure, install, commission and close out large-scale battery storage systems at customer sites. This includes defining and managing project scope, schedule, budget, internal and external stakeholder management, change and risk management, project reporting and contracts management.


In this highly visible role you will be the primary interface between the customer and project stakeholders. You will work closely with Engineering resources to ensure that installations meet all technical specifications in accordance with the customer contract.
Primary responsibilities

  • Lead battery storage system projects from initiation through installation, commissioning, and closeout.
  • Project point of contact for external and internal stakeholders including Engineering resources, subcontractors and suppliers.
  • Conduct regular project status meetings, follow up actions, and provide reports to customer as well as internal Management, including project cost, scope, schedule, and quality.
  • Responsible for compliance with all contractual requirements and development of change orders. Work with a team to develop solutions to address any gaps.
  • Develop and manage subcontractor agreements.
  • Develop and maintain project schedule and contingency plans as required.
  • Coordinate preparation and submittal of manuals, drawings, reports and other documentation and deliverables to meet customer requirements.
  • Manage activities of Project / Assistant Project Managers on assigned projects.
Qualifications
  • Professional, proactive, adaptable individual with a strong results-oriented work ethic.
  • Proven record of achieving successful completion of complex projects.
  • Customer facing role with excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A strong, collaborative, team player able to thrive within a matrix organization. Comfortable working with international stakeholders.
  • Ability to prioritize responsibilities and multi-task in fast-paced environment.
Education/Experience
  • B.S. in Engineering or other technical discipline. Electrical Engineering a plus.
  • PMP Certification or demonstrated competency in managing complex projects.
  • 10+ years of experience required
  • Project experience with electrical equipment or power/utility/renewables market is a plus
  • This position includes approximately 30% travel
