Global initiatives to transform the electric power grid with solar and wind increasingly depend on battery technology to stabilize and dispatch power to users on demand. The market for ES has never been stronger with market growth predictions up to 30% CAGR through 2030.

Our client is an industry leader in the development of innovative Battery Energy Storage technology and systems. Located in Metro-west the company is well financed, experiencing strong growth and as such hiring in number of key positions.


The Senior Compliance Engineer will be a key member of the Engineering team and will be responsible for:
 

Responsibilities:

  • Subject matter expert (SME), follow applicable standards development and participate in trade associations and conferences.

  • Track and report on adoption of updated fire and electrical codes, EMC / EMI and FCC standards that impact product requirement.

  • Active participant on the cross-functional product design teams - electrical, mechanical, thermal, software and environmental.

  • Develop and/or review product specifications, compliance test plans, and test reports.

  • Liaise between company and various regulatory agencies.

Skills and experience

  • Understanding of existing and emerging standards such as UL 1642, UL 1973, UL 1778, UL 9540A/9540, UL/CSA 60950/62368-1, IEC 61000-4-x, UL 1741, NFPA 70. 13, 15, etc..

  • Product functional safety requirement such as UL 1998, IEC 61508, etc.

  • Knowledge of hardware and software engineering design processes to launch products.

  • Experience with battery technology and power systems is a plus.
