Revenue and Project Accountant

We are partnering with a growing, project-based organization seeking a Revenue & Project Accountant to support financial tracking and revenue recognition across a diverse portfolio of projects. This role partners closely with Project Managers, Sales, and Accounting to ensure accurate project costing, profitability analysis, and compliance with revenue recognition standards.

Responsibilities:

• Set up and maintain project budgets, cost codes, and tracking structures
• Monitor project costs, commitments, and profitability against approved budgets
• Track work-in-process and prepare project financial reports and variance analyses
• Support accurate revenue recognition in accordance with ASC 606
• Prepare revenue and cost-related journal entries
• Maintain and reconcile deferred revenue, unbilled revenue, and WIP accounts
• Partner with Sales and Project teams to review contract terms and financial impact
• Collaborate with Billing to ensure invoicing aligns with contractual requirements
• Identify cost overruns and financial risks proactively
• Support commission calculations and related reporting
• Assist with process improvements to enhance project accounting efficiency

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting preferred
• 3+ years of accounting experience, ideally in a project-based environment
• Strong understanding of project costing, budgeting, and financial controls
• Working knowledge of revenue recognition principles; ASC 606 experience preferred
• Advanced Excel skills and strong analytical capabilities
• Excellent communication skills and ability to partner cross-functionally
• Detail-oriented and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment

Compensation:
$70,000–$85,000 base salary with 10% annual target bonus
