Director of Nursing & Clinical Services 

This senior nursing leadership role carries primary accountability for the clinical operations, staff management, and quality outcomes across multiple outpatient care sites. The Director will work in close partnership with senior medical and operational leadership to drive a culture of service excellence, ensure regulatory compliance, and advance the delivery of high-quality, patient-centered care. Hands-on clinical coverage may be required as organizational needs demand.


Core Responsibilities

  • Partner with senior medical and operational leadership to identify, problem-solve, and resolve clinical and operational challenges across all care sites.
  • Provide direct oversight and supervision of nursing and medical support personnel, including RNs, Medical Assistants, and Care Managers.
  • Monitor daily clinical activities of nursing and medical support staff to ensure consistency, quality, and adherence to established protocols.
  • Develop and maintain staffing schedules across all sites to ensure appropriate coverage aligned with patient volume and clinic needs.
  • Lead onboarding, orientation, and ongoing training programs to establish and sustain high performance and quality standards.
  • Serve as the organizational lead for infection control protocols, collaborating with external infection control consultants as appropriate.
  • Design and implement clinical staffing models that support organizational growth and service delivery objectives.
  • Develop and oversee competency-based training programs for nursing and medical support staff across all clinic locations.
  • Ensure consistent adherence to patient care, clinical, operational, and staffing standards organization-wide.
  • Manage nursing budgets, develop patient care programs, and plan new service lines in alignment with strategic priorities.
  • Advise executive leadership on nursing best practices, emerging trends, and patient care innovations.
  • Collaborate with Human Resources and clinical leaders on compensation structures, benefit programs, and competency frameworks for clinical staff.
  • Lead and participate in recruitment, hiring, and retention initiatives for nursing and support staff.
  • Draft, review, and maintain clinical policies and procedures; participate in cross-functional decision-making and performance improvement initiatives.
  • Provide hands-on nursing coverage as needed.

  • Partner with medical and operational leadership to ensure smooth, efficient clinical workflows.
  • Uphold nursing care standards and advocate for appropriate clinical resources and support.
  • Maintain all required regulatory, compliance, and accreditation standards.
  • Contribute to strategic planning efforts alongside senior clinical and operational leadership.
  • Build and sustain collaborative relationships across departments and organizational functions.
  • Serve as a visible advocate and spokesperson for nursing and medical support staff.
  • Develop and execute departmental objectives, policies, and procedures.
  • Ensure all operations align with applicable laws, standards, and internal regulations.
  • Prepare and oversee business reporting, including annual budget submissions.
  • Mentor staff and serve as an accessible resource to colleagues at all levels.
  • Manage personnel functions including hiring, performance management, and disciplinary actions in partnership with Human Resources.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required; Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) strongly preferred.
  • Minimum of 8–10 years of clinical nursing experience, including at least 5 years in a progressive nursing leadership or management role.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of healthcare clinical operations, industry trends, and state/federal regulatory requirements.
  • Demonstrated excellence in team leadership, mentoring, and organizational development.
