Director of Accounting

A fast-growing organization is looking for a Director of Accounting to lead and scale its accounting team. This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who thrives in a dynamic environment, enjoys mentoring a team, and wants to influence processes, systems, and strategy at a pivotal growth stage. Base salary ranges from $165,000–$180,000 plus up to 20% bonus, making this an exciting opportunity for a senior finance leader.

What You’ll Do

• Lead all accounting operations: general ledger, payables, receivables, payroll, fixed assets, and revenue accounting

• Own the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes to deliver accurate financial statements

• Manage, mentor, and grow the accounting team, including hiring and performance management

• Ensure compliance with accounting standards, internal controls, and regulatory requirements

• Coordinate audits and tax filings

• Improve processes and systems to increase efficiency and scalability

• Partner with finance and cross-functional teams on budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis

• Support leadership on strategic initiatives and technical accounting issues

What We’re Looking For

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance (Master’s preferred)

• CPA or CMA certification strongly preferred

• 8–12+ years of progressive accounting experience, including team leadership

• Strong GAAP knowledge and experience with audits and financial reporting

• Proven ability to build, develop, and retain high-performing teams

• ERP and accounting systems experience

• Analytical, organized, and problem-solving mindset

• Experience with system implementations or multi-state tax compliance is a plus

Compensation & Perks

• Base salary: $165,000–$180,000

• Bonus: up to 20% of base
