Job Title: Toxic Tort / Asbestos Defense Litigation Associate
Location: California – Remote flexibility offered, but candidate must reside in California and be an active member of the California Bar. Occasional in-office appearances may be required at one of the firm’s offices depending on proximity (Irvine, Los Angeles, Ontario, Oxnard, San Francisco, Fresno, Sacramento, Carlsbad, San Diego, etc.).
Compensation: $120,000.00 - $275,000.00 (commensurate with experience), plus bonus
Billing / Hours: 1900

Key Responsibilities
- Manage all phases of toxic tort and asbestos defense litigation from case inception through resolution.
- Draft and argue dispositive motions, pleadings, discovery responses, and trial-related filings.
- Conduct and defend depositions of plaintiffs, experts, and corporate representatives.
- Coordinate with experts in fields such as industrial hygiene, environmental science, and epidemiology.
- Develop defense strategies and communicate effectively with clients and co-counsel.
- Represent clients in both state and federal courts, handling case strategy, discovery, and trial preparation.
Qualifications
- Active California Bar license required.
- Must reside in California (remote flexibility available).
- 1 or more years of defense litigation experience, specifically in toxic tort, asbestos defense, or products liability.
- Excellent research, writing, and analytical skills.
- Strong academic credentials and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently in a remote setting while collaborating with the firm’s national team.
- Prior experience working with scientific experts and exposure to complex discovery is preferred.
