Test Manager
Positions located in the New England area including Greater Boston

Manage the Test functions onsite with daily supervision of technicians and engineers in the testing department. Responsible for the distribution of work to meet scheduling requirements.  Drive quality assurance activities to develop/support manufacturing operations.   Responsibilities include troubleshooting, repairing, testing, reporting, documenting, and production of  products to ensure products meet established specification.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Plan and direct Test Technicians to optimize capacity and meet production and business requirements.
  • Plan, direct, and conduct laboratory testing of products and/or components.
  • Organize test programs, including facilities, manpower, procedures, and timing.
  • Review product designs for potential issues. Work closely with design engineering to improve product.
  • Diagnose, correct, and verify finished modules and finished as prescribed by drawings and/or procedures.
  • Test and diagnose first time build and design units with manufacturing engineering guidance.
  • Prepare detailed reports and test procedures documenting the results, methods and equipment used in product evaluation.
  • Evaluate manufacturing systems, corrective action programs, and quality performance across the business.
  • Help QA department to establish controls and inspection points to facilitate detection, correction, and prevention of nonconforming materials, parts, assemblies, and products.
  • Lead the Corrective Action program internally and externally with suppliers.
  • Performs other duties and responsibilities when required.

Key Qualifications and Skills
  • Electrical engineering degree.
  • 5+ years’ experience as a test technician in product testing and repair.
  • Additional 3+ years’ supervisory experience.
  • Familiarity testing and diagnosing electromechanical products and related products.
  • Ability to work from blueprints, schematics, change notices, and use related diagnostic equipment.
  • Work with engineering to evaluate results and recommend corrective action.
  • Experience developing, updating, and maintaining quality assurance policies and procedures.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with customers, suppliers, and the internal Team.
  • Excellent computer skills with Excel, other Microsoft Outlook programs and ERP Systems.
  • Report writing and maintenance and analysis of information.
