- Compensation Range: $30.94 - $39.41 per hour

Key Responsibilities:
- Assemble case carts for upcoming surgeries, following surgeon preference cards and communicating any missing items to the Materials Manager or supervisor.
- Anticipate the surgeon’s needs during procedures by passing instruments and holding retractors as directed.
- Maintain sterile technique throughout the procedure and remain vigilant for any breaks in sterility.
- Manage surgical instruments and trays, ensuring all necessary supplies and functioning equipment are available for each procedure.
- Inspect and maintain surgical instruments, reporting any malfunctions or needed repairs to the Manager.
- Assist in the thorough cleaning of the operating room after procedures and help prepare for the next patient.
- Perform initial counts of instruments, sharps, and sponges with the circulator to ensure accuracy.
- Aid the surgical team with gowning, gloving, draping patients, and setting up the sterile field.
- Participate in decontamination, cleaning, processing, and sterilization of equipment following infection control protocols, and prepare case carts for the Surgical Services department.
- Monitor and document the use of all surgical supplies and ensure accurate billing.
- Help maintain inventory by accurately counting, restocking, and storing supplies.
- Assist in patient transfers from beds to stretchers, as needed.
- Non-certified Surgical Technologists must complete 15 Continuing Education Units (CEU) annually and report to leadership.
- Education/Certification:
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Certificate or Associate’s degree in Surgical Technology, or completion of ROC Surgical Technologist Training Program, or one year of surgical technologist experience
- Knowledge of:
- Sterile techniques and protocols
- Surgical instruments and sterile processing
- Basic anatomy and physiology
- At least one year of experience as an orthopedic surgical technologist
