Our Client  designs and manufactures ultra precision machining solutions for freeform diamond turning, milling, and grinding which are used to produce optical lenses, mold inserts, mirrors, and precision mechanical components. Their very state of the art machines produce rotationally symmetric, asymmetric, freeform, and sculpted geometries with form tolerances in the sub-micron range and nanometer surface finishes.

This innovative and growing global company with revenue of $500B +  is in need of a Senior  Quality Engineer.  This individual must be  self-motivated with strong communication skills who has the autonomy and runway to establish new quality systems and processes in the company. He/She will be expected to create, deploy and utilize key quality performance metrics that are measurable and actionable to deliver world class Precision Machining products. You will be in a high impact role, with growth opportunities to expand responsibilities over multiple products and across multiple brands.

Primary and secondary responsibilities will include:

*       Develop and maintain Quality systems with our suppliers, service and manufacturing teams to ensure delivery of quality products.
*       Measure, identify and drive continuous improvement opportunities at both the product and process level.
*       Non-compliance management, Risk and Impact assessment, Root cause investigation and solution development and verification.
*       Identify and eliminate scrap/rework causes to achieve machine build time and first pass yield goals.
*       Standardize metrology methods and techniques for granites, spindles, slides, air and oil bearing pads to ensure process repeatability.
*       Engage with the product development and manufacturing engineering teams to ensure a smooth transition from development to production.

Qualifications:

*       BS or MS degree in an Engineering discipline with 5+ years of experience in a Quality Engineering role.
*       Motivated to drive continuous improvements across the board through data driven decisions.
*       Proficient understanding of GD&T and metrology measurement methods and techniques.
*       Highly skilled with algebra, trigonometry, calculus, statistics, and their applications.
*       Hands-on experience with machining (mill, lathe, CNC, etc.) and metrology equipment.
*       Understanding of material characteristics and performances.
*       Strong communication, presentation and negotiation skills are needed.
*       Excellent problem-solving skills through structured approach and solution generation in a timely manner.
*       Passion to win, the desire to collaborate and the ability to build influential relationships.
