Key Responsibilities
- Conduct inspections of raw materials, in-process products, and finished goods to ensure compliance with quality standards and specifications.
- Utilize measurement tools such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges to verify product dimensions and tolerances.
- Review product blueprints and specifications to ensure all quality requirements are met throughout the production process.
- Document inspection results, recording any deviations or defects and working with production teams to resolve quality issues.
- Perform first article inspections and provide feedback to production, supply chain, and engineering teams to ensure processes are meeting quality requirements.
- Identify non-conforming materials or products, segregating and reporting them for corrective action.
- Participate in continuous improvement efforts by identifying opportunities for enhancing product quality and reducing defects.
- Collaborate with production staff to ensure proper understanding and adherence to quality procedures and standards.
- Maintain accurate records of inspections, audits, and corrective actions in accordance with company procedures.
- Assist with the calibration and maintenance of inspection tools and equipment to ensure accurate measurements.
- Adhere to safety regulations and ensure that all quality control activities are conducted in a safe and compliant manner.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; additional certification in quality control or a related field is a plus.
- 2+ years of experience in quality inspection, preferably in a manufacturing or fabrication environment.
- Familiarity with quality control methods, standards, and inspection techniques.
- Proficiency in reading blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings.
- Experience using measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges.
- Forklift certification or experience operating material-handling equipment is a plus.
- Strong attention to detail, with the ability to identify and document defects or non-conformances accurately.
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate with production teams to resolve quality issues.
- Basic computer skills for documenting and reporting inspection results.
- Ability to lift and move objects weighing up to 50 pounds as required by the job.
