About the Opportunity:

Our client is a growing plaintiff-side employment law firm expanding into Minnesota. The firm believes Minnesota’s laws provide meaningful ways to vindicate employee rights and is committed to building a practice in the state.

The first Minnesota hire will help establish and grow the practice, with substantial support from the firm’s existing attorneys and teams. The environment is collaborative, and the firm expects to open a Minnesota office as the practice develops. The position will begin remotely within Minnesota.

The practice includes wage-and-hour, discrimination, harassment, retaliation, wrongful termination, and other employment disputes.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage cases through the litigation process, from initial investigation and pleadings through discovery, mediation, and resolution

  • Draft and respond to pleadings, motions, written discovery, and other litigation documents

  • Take and defend depositions

  • Participate in hearings, mediations, and settlement negotiations

  • Develop case strategy and communicate with clients

  • Collaborate with the firm’s attorneys and support teams to build the Minnesota practice

  • Mentor and supervise junior attorneys, as appropriate to experience

  • 3–15 years of attorney experience; candidates with more than 15 years of experience are not a fit for this role

  • Active Minnesota Bar membership in good standing

  • Employment law or employment litigation experience preferred

  • Plaintiff-side experience preferred; attorneys with defense-side experience may also be considered

  • Strong legal research, writing, analytical, and communication skills

  • Ability to manage cases and deadlines independently while working collaboratively with the broader team
