This is a Hybrid opportunity for the right candidate; 4 days in the office to start.
Join a small boutique firm as a Personal Injury Paralegal in Torrance, CA (onsite) with a team currently consisting of 9 attorneys, soon expanding to 9! They seek to hire a Paralegal with 3-5 years of legal experience on the civil / plaintiff side, with at least 2 of those years being in personal injury litigation, as opposed to pre-litigation. Our client advocates for individuals who have sustained serious injuries due to the negligence of corporations, businesses, governmental entities, or individuals with insurance. Their focus spans a variety of injury cases, with a particular emphasis on brain, spine, and catastrophic injuries. Operating as a contingency firm, they eschew billable hours, and depending on experience, offer potential to be a part of their highly lucrative case referral bonus program. The founding attorney is an acclaimed trial lawyer boasting a track record of 50+ jury trials and has secured over $100 million for his clients. Recognized with prestigious awards, he is a respected advocate in personal injury & product liability, and is a dedicated board member of influential legal organizations
We desire an ideal candidate who is proactive, a self-starter, extremely organized, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple cases simultaneously in a dynamic environment. The position is a full-time, in-office role requiring a minimum commitment of 40 hours per week. Bilingual proficiency in English/Spanish is preferable, but not required.

Responsibilities include:
- Filing and serving legal documents
- Communicating with clients
- Maintaining and organizing case files
- Conducting legal research and gathering pertinent information for cases
- Preparing and drafting legal documents, including pleadings, motions, and subpoenas
- Coordinating meetings, depositions, and court appearances with clients, witnesses, and opposing counsel
- Noticing and objecting to depositions
- Calendar management for depositions, hearing dates, and all deadlines (pleadings, motions, discovery, etc.)
- Scheduling court reporters and requesting transcripts
- Reviewing and proofreading legal documents for accuracy and completeness
- Utilizing case management software to maintain organized and updated case records
- Preferred Bachelor's or Associate's degree
- 3-5 years of legal experience in a Paralegal or Legal Assistant position on the civil / plaintiff side, with at least 2 of those years being in PI litigation, as opposed to pre-litigation
- Strong organizational skills with meticulous attention to detail
- Proficiency in data entry and document management systems
- Excellent phone etiquette and communication skills
- Ability to proofread legal documents for accuracy and completeness
- Familiarity with legal terminology and procedures
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Capacity to work independently and effectively prioritize tasks
- Experience with file management
