Position: Asset Management & Investment Funds – Mid-level Associate
Practice Area: Asset Management & Investment Funds
Locations: Boston, New York City, Washington DC. As needed, the firm is prepared to cover relocation expenses for qualified candidates interested in joining our team in any of these three cities. They work 3 days in the office and 2 days from home (Hybrid)
Benefits: Top-tier, extensive
Compensation: Cravath scale for salary and bonus. Base salary for a 4th-year associate is $310,000 per year with a $75,000 bonus. For 6th-year associates, the base salary is $390,000 annually, with a $105,000 bonus.
Hours: Associates have a minimum billable hour expectation of 1850, and bonus eligibility is 1950. Pro bono is not required, but up to 50 pro bono hours can count towards bonus eligibility.

Job Description:
- The law firm is currently in search of a skilled midlevel associate specializing in Asset Management & Investment Funds to complement their dynamic team. This opportunity is open in their Boston, New York City, or Washington D.C. offices, with a preference for candidates inclined towards the Boston location.
- The ideal candidate will bring 4 to 6 years of experience focusing on open-end (mutual) funds, closed-end funds, and/or exchange traded funds (ETFs), coupled with a solid background in representing investment companies, investment advisers, and board members concerning U.S. federal securities law matters.
- Proficiency in navigating the intricacies of the Investment Company Act of 1940, the Investment Advisers Act of 1940, the Securities Act of 1933, the Securities Exchange Act of 1934, and related regulations is desired.
- In this role, the chosen candidate will collaborate with a seasoned team comprising 6 to 7 partners and 4 to 5 associates within their Asset Management and Investment Funds practice group.
- They are dedicated to offering active mentorship and fostering an environment conducive to assuming greater responsibilities. Moreover, candidates will have the opportunity to engage with a diverse clientele, contributing significantly to impactful endeavors.
- Candidates with previous experience in a top-tier law firm or in-house at an asset manager are strongly preferred.
