About the Opportunity

Our client, an established technology organization, is seeking a Lead Infrastructure & Platform Operations Engineer to oversee its enterprise infrastructure, cloud platforms, and production operations.

Reporting to the CTO, this individual will be responsible for ensuring the organization's technology environment is reliable, secure, scalable, and cost-effective. The role combines senior technical leadership with infrastructure oversight, operational management, and strategic vendor coordination.

This is an opportunity for an experienced infrastructure professional with approximately 10 years of experience who enjoys owning complex technology environments, leading technical teams, and driving operational excellence.

This is an infrastructure and operations leadership position, not a software development or coding role.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead enterprise infrastructure and platform operations across cloud, on-premises, and hybrid environments.
• Oversee servers, storage, networking, virtualization, operating systems, and cloud platforms.
• Ensure system availability, performance, security, scalability, and reliability.
• Manage infrastructure upgrades, migrations, capacity planning, and technology modernization.
• Lead production support, incident management, disaster recovery, and business continuity.
• Oversee infrastructure monitoring, patching, access management, and security controls.
• Manage technology vendors, service providers, contracts, budgets, and infrastructure spending.
• Provide technical leadership to infrastructure teams and coordinate with application, data, security, and business stakeholders.
• Identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency, reliability, and cost management.

Qualifications

• Approximately 10 years of experience in enterprise infrastructure, cloud operations, systems administration, or platform operations.
• Previous experience providing technical leadership or managing infrastructure teams.
• Strong knowledge of AWS, Azure, or GCP, along with networking, storage, virtualization, Windows/Linux environments, and enterprise systems.
• Experience managing hybrid infrastructure and business-critical production environments.
• Knowledge of disaster recovery, monitoring, incident management, security, and infrastructure lifecycle management.
• Experience managing vendors, budgets, and technology initiatives.
• Strong leadership, communication, troubleshooting, and organizational skills.
