Job Title: Lead D&O Broker – Technology Vertical

Location: San Francisco, CA (remote option available for highly experienced candidates)

Compensation: $150,000+ (commensurate with experience)


About the Role

We are seeking a Lead Directors & Officers (D&O) Broker to join our Technology Vertical team. This is a true broker role — not a sales position. The Broker will focus on placing complex D&O risks for technology clients, working closely with carrier partners while also serving as a technical resource for clients.

This position offers the opportunity to become a trusted advisor within a high-performing team, contributing deep technical expertise, strong market relationships, and the ability to navigate nuanced D&O placements.


Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary carrier-facing broker within the technology vertical, cultivating and maintaining strong relationships with underwriters.

  • Prepare, analyze, and complete submission materials to secure competitive client quotes.

  • Negotiate coverage terms and premiums with carriers to deliver optimal client solutions.

  • Partner with Producers, Account Executives, and client service teams to support placement strategies.

  • Act as a technical D&O expert, occasionally participating in client meetings, presentations, and renewal discussions.

  • Stay up-to-date on market developments, carrier appetite, and emerging D&O risk trends specific to the technology sector.

  • Provide mentorship and knowledge-sharing to junior brokers within the team.


Qualifications

  • 5–7+ years of commercial insurance brokerage experience, with a strong focus on D&O placements.

  • Demonstrated technical expertise in D&O coverage forms, structures, and negotiation strategies.

  • Established relationships with key D&O carriers and underwriters.

  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex coverage details to both carrier partners and clients.

  • Collaborative, team-oriented mindset with the ability to work across functions.

  • Location flexibility:

    • Less experienced brokers should be based in San Francisco for hands-on mentorship.

    • Highly experienced brokers may be considered for remote work.
