Interim Director of Emergency Medical Services (EMS)

** Oregon Paramedic licensure required ** 

A rural healthcare organization in northern Oregon is seeking an experienced Interim EMS Director to lead a county-wide EMS operation serving a large geographic region.

This leader will oversee approximately 50 EMS personnel and provide operational leadership for ambulance services across multiple communities. The Director will be responsible for supporting EMS teams, strengthening operational processes, and ensuring continued delivery of high-quality emergency medical services.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide overall leadership for a multi-site EMS program
• Oversee day-to-day EMS operations across paid and volunteer service locations
• Lead and support approximately 50 EMS personnel
• Review and strengthen operational policies and procedures
• Support staff engagement and department stability during a leadership transition
• Partner with executive leadership on strategic and operational initiatives
• Provide guidance on clinical, operational, and regulatory matters
• Participate in community education and training activities as needed
• Assist with field operations when necessary

Qualifications

• Previous EMS Director or senior EMS leadership experience required
• Oregon Paramedic licensure required
• Strong leadership, operational, and team-building skills
• Experience leading rural or geographically dispersed EMS operations preferred
• Ability to bring practical solutions and a hands-on leadership style
