Field Service Engineer – virtual

Our Client ,  a worldwide leader in active floor vibration cancellation and magnetic field cancellation technology, is actively seeking a qualified candidates  to fill the role of US Field Service Engineer. This role will mainly focus on service for its Texas, or Westcoast clients.   This is a virtual position, and we are looking for candidates that reside in Oregon.

This position will support new product installs, perform optimization and certification on our products post-installation, and occasionally provide troubleshooting and repair services on a variety of the company’s  line of advanced products.
This role is responsible for handling all aspects of service support including communications between customers and the company’s  sales and service departments and producing detailed written reports and documentation. Our ideal candidate must be able to work independently, hold strong customer service values, and think critically to resolve technical issues.                   
Position Responsibilities:
  • May perform Environmental Surveys including floor vibration measurements, room magnetic field measurements and acoustic measurements at customer sites and prepare detailed technical reports. This function of the job will be performed once the FSE has been fully trained.
  • Maintain and develop positive client relationships. 
  • Develop and expand the current survey capabilities to better suit customer needs
  • Support new product installations and provide service on existing products. Training will be provided on our product lines
  • Some opportunity to travel worldwide to perform duties. Most travel will be in North America with the potential for occasional travel to Europe, Asia, and south/central America
  • Assist Quality, R&D and Engineering Department in diagnosing and debugging problems and evaluating  new products
Position Requirements:
  • Associate Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field. Will also accept relevant military experience. 
  • 3-5 Years of experience in related field (electrical, mechanical, acoustics, vibration, and/or magnetic fields)
  • Familiarity with data acquisition systems, FFT analysis and oscilloscopes
  • Strong electrical, mechanical, and pneumatic aptitude and troubleshooting skills
  • Ability to travel, work independently and be flexible regarding changes in schedule
  • The ability to perform under critical deadlines and time constraints
  • Self-motivated and an effective team player
  • Effective communication skills, both orally and written, with technical and non-technical individuals.
  • Proficiency in English
  • Ability to stand, bend, and reach with both hands as necessary, and capable of lifting up to 75 lbs.
  • Ability to bend, squat, crawl, reach and maneuver in tight spaces
  • Expected travel 50 – 70%
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license and passport
  • Must be a US Citizen or a Green Card holder and  be able to pass a background and drug screen to be eligible for employment for this opportunity.
