SUMMARY:  Direct work in all areas of a world-class medical device manufacturing operations including production, procurement and materials management to ensure a  production facility of the highest quality, production rates, and safety.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.  Other duties may be assigned.
  • Manage employees and hands-on operation of the Company’s manufacturing function, whether in-house or sub-contracted:
  • Establish goals and objectives for all manufacturing functions and review performance against operating plans and standards
  • Identify training needs, initiate development of subordinates, recommend effective personnel action
  • Keep employees informed as to the company/department plans and processes
  • Ensure that, as the Company grows, manufacturing capabilities meet or exceed all industry and customer requirements for cost, quality, and responsiveness
  • Ensure all department policies and safety procedures are always followed
  • Work closely with Head of Business, on manufacturing plans, goals, and future product innovations
  • Analyze current operational processes and performance, recommending solutions for improvement where necessary
  • Develop and manage budgeting and budget execution with a focus on product costs and margins
  • Define and recommend objectives in each operating area; Develop specific short-term and long-term plans and programs, together with supporting budget requests and financial estimates
  • Maximize efficiency and productivity through extensive process analysis and interdepartmental collaboration
  • Create, review, and submit to Head of Business, plans for the control of planned outputs, budget spending, labor efficiency, material efficiency, and procurement efficiency.
  • Direct all production control, production process development, quality systems, purchasing, and shipping/receiving activities
  • Partner with other departments to lead improve Company processes and meet Quality goals
  • Follow all company policies regarding travel, expenses, meetings, and meals
  • Required to wear dosimeter when in direct contact with radiation emitting devices

    Education & Experience
  • Bachelor’s in Engineering, Business or related field preferred
  • 10+ years of recent related experience
  • Strong working knowledge of data analysis and performance metrics, using business management software
  • Knowledge of Statistical Process Control, ISO 13485, FDA QSR, MS Office (Excel and PowerPoint), Windows         
  •  Skills and expertise for creating, revising SOPs, and providing employee training.         
  •  Travel as needed
  • In compliance with federal law, all persons hired will be required to verify identity and eligibility to work in the United States and to complete the required employment eligibility verification document form upon hire

Computer & Analytic Skills
  • Must be able to assemble facts from various areas, analyze data, and provide informed recommendations to management
  • Must be able to work with minimal supervision, take charge of projects, and work effectively in a demanding, fast paced environment
  • Must be excellent with technology, be able to present using a laptop computer, and be able demonstrate proficiency with MS Office package, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint, as well as Outlook and Internet Explorer

Physical Requirements
  • Regularly lift and /or move up to 25 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move more than 80 pounds
  • Frequently required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands; and talk or hear
  • Must be able to sit for long periods of time
  • The noise level in the work environment is usually mild.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include Close vision, Distance vision, Peripheral vision, Depth perception and Ability to adjust focus
  • Interaction with x-ray devices; for this reason, strict safety and tracking programs are in place, requiring the utilization of dose monitoring equipment either full time or as necessitated by situation
