Our client, an outpatient drug and alcohol treatment center on the South Shore, about 30 min south of Boston is looking for a Clinician! The program is small and tight-knit, built by an owner who is deeply invested in it. The clinical director is hands-on and accessible to both staff and clients. Staff here genuinely care about the work and about each other. There's real autonomy in this role and room to grow, including the ability to pursue licensure while working here. The mission is straightforward: help individuals with substance use disorders achieve lasting recovery through personalized, individualized care.

The Role

You'll carry a caseload of clients across PHP and IOP levels of care, providing individual therapy, developing treatment plans, conducting assessments, and co-facilitating groups with adults 18+ presenting with substance use and co-occurring disorders. Clients step down from residential or detox, or come in directly from the community. The program runs Sunday–Friday at the PHP level (this role is not required to work weekends) and Monday–Friday at the IOP level. Groups make up the bulk of the clinical work; individual sessions are held once per week per client. There is a medical director and Nurse Practitioner. In addition, they have an office manager who helps with admissions and techs who help with urines and transport.

Responsibilities

  • Carry a caseload of clients across PHP and IOP, with PHP clients seen more frequently and IOP clients seen on a 3–5 day schedule
  • Provide weekly individual therapy sessions focused on SUD recovery and co-occurring mental health conditions including PTSD, mood disorders, and dual diagnosis presentations
  • Utilize a range of evidence-based and holistic therapeutic modalities including CBT, DBT, motivational interviewing, EMDR, trauma-informed care, acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), and solution-focused therapy, alongside holistic programming such as yoga, drum circle, sound meditation, and movement-based groups
  • Develop and maintain individualized treatment plans tailored to each client's history, level of care, and recovery goals
  • Conduct intake assessments and level-of-care evaluations for incoming clients stepping down from residential or detox, or entering directly from the community
  • Co-facilitate group therapy sessions, which form the core of the daily programming – groups run throughout the morning and early afternoon across both PHP and IOP tracks
  • Collaborate daily with a multidisciplinary team including a case manager, office manager/operations, behavioral health techs, and an NP who is on-site weekly
  • Participate in team meetings held at 8:30 AM
  • Manage clinical documentation accurately and on time – notes can be completed remotely after 3 PM
  • Support client advocacy, discharge planning, and coordination with referral sources including residential programs and detox facilities

What They're Looking For

  • Master's degree in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology Preferred
  • If licensed as a LADC II - Bachelors Degree required.
  • LICSW, LMHC preferred but not required,
  • Experience working with SUD and dual diagnosis populations preferred, outpatient experience with another population/issue will be considered
  • Strong treatment planning and case management skills
