Chief Nursing Officer (CNO)

We are seeking an experienced Chief Nursing Officer to provide executive leadership for Nursing and Patient Care Services within a community hospital environment. This role is a key member of the senior leadership team and is responsible for clinical quality, nursing operations, regulatory compliance, and performance improvement.

This is an executive role for a present, engaged leader who builds trust, sets clear expectations, and leads effectively in complex clinical settings.

What You’ll Do

• Lead and oversee all nursing and patient care services

• Drive quality, safety, and performance improvement initiatives

• Ensure compliance with state, federal, and accreditation standards

• Build, develop, and retain high-performing nursing teams

• Partner with executive leadership on staffing, budgeting, and resource utilization

Scope of Leadership

• Oversight of approximately 50 FTEs, including RN, LPN, PCT, Unit Secretaries/Monitor Techs, Wound Care, Dialysis, and Radiology

What We’re Looking For

• Education: BSN required; Master’s degree (MSN, MBA, MHA, or related) preferred or in progress

• Experience:

  • Minimum 5 years nursing or clinical leadership experience

  • Minimum 5 years hospital-based RN or clinical experience

  • Critical Care or ICU experience within the last 10 years (required)

  • LTACH experience acceptable

• Licensure/Certifications:

  • Active RN license (state or compact)

  • BLS required; ACLS within 90 days
    CCRN preferred
