Join a company with a rich history of providing exceptional service to their clients, while fostering a supportive workplace where professionals can thrive!  As their fiduciary department expands, they are seeking a talented Senior Fiduciary Tax Specialist to contribute to their continued success.

The Senior Fiduciary Tax Specialist will play a pivotal role in the fiduciary department, responsible for the preparation and review of fiduciary income tax returns for trusts and estates, as well as gift tax returns and estate tax returns. This role will also involve providing ancillary assistance with estate tax and planning matters, collaborating closely with clients and internal stakeholders to ensure compliance and optimize tax strategies.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and review Forms 1041, 706, 709, and related schedules, ensuring accuracy and compliance with relevant regulations.
  • Provide expert guidance on complex tax issues related to estates, gifts, and trusts, including income taxation, deductions, exemptions, and credits.
  • Conduct thorough research on tax laws and regulations to stay abreast of changes and developments impacting fiduciary taxation.
  • Assist clients with fiduciary income tax planning and estate/gift tax planning, offering strategic advice to minimize tax liabilities and maximize wealth preservation.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, addressing inquiries, providing updates on tax matters, and offering proactive advice to optimize their financial situations.
  • Mentor and train junior staff members, fostering their professional development and contributing to the overall growth of the fiduciary department.
  • Participate in firm-wide initiatives and contribute to a positive and collaborative work culture.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA, JD or MST preferred.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in fiduciary tax preparation and planning, with a focus on estates, gifts, and trusts.
  • Strong knowledge of tax laws and regulations pertaining to fiduciary taxation, including familiarity with IRS forms and guidelines.
  • Exceptional analytical skills and attention to detail, with the ability to navigate complex tax scenarios and identify opportunities for optimization.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with clients and collaborate effectively with internal stakeholders.
  • Proven leadership abilities, with experience mentoring and guiding junior staff members.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, with a strong commitment to delivering high-quality service to clients.
