Senior Electrical Engineer  -  Greater Boston Area.

As a key member of the New Product Development team, you’ll  be focused primarily on conceptualizing, designing, simulating, documenting, prototyping, and manufacturing new equipment designed for precise control of manufacturing equipment such as semiconductor, drug delivery  and microscopy tools.   The successful candidate will also be expected to diagnose and remedy problems with existing products, improve existing products, lead cost cutting activities, justify new projects to internal stakeholders, and oversee projects on-time and within budget.

Your responsibilities will include:
  • Lead design and development of robust electric systems from requirements definition through integration and test.
  • Execute technically challenging and time-sensitive projects in a demanding and past-paced environment.
  • Work with Software, Firmware, Controls and Mechanical engineers to develop cost effective solution.
  • Develop and execute performance verification activities, including unit tests, integration tests, and debugging.
  • Develop technical expertise in company’s electrical systems and provide guidance and support to company staff and customers.
  • Actively participate in product design reviews.
  • Managing and guiding 3rd party resources.
  • Provide ongoing maintenance, support and enhancements in existing systems and platforms.
 
Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Electrical Engineering
  • 3-5 years of proven relevant work experience
  • Strong knowledge of PCB design, prototype, and manufacture
  • Strong knowledge of ECAD design tools such as Altium, Eagle, or Orcad.
  • Knowledge of Analog and Digital Signal processing
  • Strong knowledge of Data Acquisition for variety of sensor types and data acquisition specs (resolution, noise tolerances, etc.)
  • Familiarity with ADC and DAC operations
  • Hands-on experience with oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, multi-meters, soldering irons, and other common electrical engineering tools
  • Knowledge of communication protocols such as SPI, I2C, and Parallel
  • Knowledge of various memory types such as ROM or RAM
  • Knowledge of power distribution and amplification techniques of both AC and DC
  • Experience using LabVIEW, Matlab, Spice, Multisim, or similar for electrical simulation
  • Familiarity with CE and/or UL marking requirements
  • Experience working in an ISO 9001 environment
 
Preferred Requirements:
  • Knowledge of embedded programming such as C, C++, C# or Python languages
  • Experience in industries related to acoustics, mechanical vibration, and magnetism or magnetic fields a plus
  • Entrepreneurial mindset and an interest in the business of Engineering a plus
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills

  • Able to demonstrate proficiency in understanding the interaction of systems with mechanical, FW, and SW content
  • “Roll up your sleeves” attitude in applying Engineering experience, knowledge, and skills in contributing to team efforts
  • Detail-oriented and organized, with the ability to multitask and display consistent follow-through on tasks, assignments, projects, etc
  • Ability to maintain a safe environment
