SUMMARY: Responsible for the detail design and drafting of mechanical components and assemblies used in innovative medical devices.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned
- Create design models, layouts, assembly and detail drawings for new or existing products
- Review engineering drawings to ensure adherence to company established specifications and standards
- Create technical documentation for end-user support such as creating production documentation as required
- Simple parts design under engineering supervision including sheet metal, castings, and machined parts
- Required to wear dosimeter when in direct contact with radiation emitting devices

Education & Experience
- Associates in Mechanical Engineering and 3 years of experience preferred
- 2+ years of experience with SolidWorks required
- Knowledge of sheet metal, casting, and machine drawing specifications
- Experience with part modeling, assembly constraints, and detailed drawings
- Detailed knowledge of drafting standards and tolerances
- Must be able to interface with other engineers as needed
Computer & Analytic skills
- Must be able to analyze and solve drafting problems
- Must be excellent with technology and be able demonstrate proficiency with MS Office package, including Excel, Word, and Powerpoint; as well as Outlook and Internet Explorer
Physical requirements
- Regularly lift and /or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 20 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move more than 50 pounds
- Frequently required to sit at desk for long periods of time; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear
- Frequently required to walk the production floor
