Manufacturing Engineering Technician – Wakefield/Reading location


Five primary areas of responsibly:

1) work with engineering to develop and build production processes, mainly focused New Product Introduction,

2) concept to production process

3) identify and collaborate with machine shop(s) to design / fabricate tooling and fixtures,

4) develop build instructions, record build records and notes,

5) inspect and verification of all parts and assemblies

Reporting to the Manager of Robotic Manufacturing Engineering, this position has the following requirements:

  • Responsibilities and Deliverables: Ability to build from, and understand CAD models (SolidWorks)
  • Write and develop Manufacturing Instructions, take build notes and record needed values
  • Work with design engineering and give manufacturability feedback
  • Use basic machine shop tools to build / fabricate fixtures and tooling
  • Very proficient in Electro-mechanical assembly
  • Knowledge of and ability to use metrology equipment: using calipers, micrometers, height gauge, dial indicator
  • Operate in various locations: Engineering Labs, Clean room, Machine Shop, Warehouse
  • Willingness to take on additional responsibilities as needed to support the business requirements

Experience Required:

  • Must be detail oriented and can work independently with little instruction
  • Must be a fast learner, understanding various electro-mechanical designs, PDM / MES software
  • Team Player, works well with others from various teams
  • Reliable, flexible – willing to work off shifts and weekends on an exception basis
  • Strong interpersonal skills, including effective written and oral communication abilities
  • Experience in ISO 9000 – Quality Systems – SSQA a plus

Education Required:

  • Minimum of 4 years’ experience in Electrical /Electro-Mechanical Assembly, Troubleshooting, New Product Introduction
  • Computer savvy, ability to use SolidWorks, MS Office, ERP or MS Access
  • Associates Engineering Diploma/Degree or equivalent experience
