The Manufacturing Engineering Manager’s role will include:

      • Build and lead a sustaining and new product introduction manufacturing engineering team
      • Create and implement safe and effective processes and systems to support the manufacturing team
      • Create and inspire a team of engineers trained in continuous improvement methodologies to achieving success through collaboration and teamwork.
      • Take responsibility for developing and leading a new manufacturing engineering team to supporting all assembly, test, materials, and logistics operations    
      • Build a Manufacturing Engineering Team for accelerated growth and business turnaroud challenges and opportunities. Create an environment of collaboration across all functional areas including design engineering, quality, supply chain, manufacturing and sales.

 

Essential Qualifications:

 

  • A bachelor’s degree (e.g., mechanical engineering, industrial engineering, electrical engineering). Master’s Degree strongly preferred (Engineering, Manufacturing, Systems Engineering, MBA)
  • 5-10 years of experience in a manufacturing environment. Electronics experience preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead a diverse team of professionals.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work well with people at all levels & educational backgrounds.
  • Strong organizational and managerial skills required. Project management experience is a must.
  • Lean and 6S implementation experience is essential. Certifications preferred.
  • Strong individual competency and leadership ability in engineering change processes, engineering design and product introduction systems.
  • Experience setting up and managing product data in ERP and MRP systems.
  • Capability to initiate and lead process improvements.
  • Ability to provide performance management and career development coaching to team members.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Build and lead a sustaining manufacturing and new product introduction engineering team supporting RF Operations. Team will include manufacturing, mechanical, electrical, and industrial engineers.
  • Lead engineering team, projects, and programs in area of responsibility, and ensuring that necessary preliminary activities (e.g., determination of outcomes, milestones, viability studies, and resource planning, among others) are completed to allow for effectiveness and focus during later stages of projects.
  • Ensure that all projects and programs assigned are completed in accordance with predetermined requirements, with specific attention to product/process specifications, project/program costs, resource utilization, and timeliness for completion.
  • Establish departmental budgets and spending requirements. Ensure that the utilization of all material and financial resources is carried out in an effective manner in alignment with goals to ensure maximum productivity for the area.
  • Spearhead research and development of new manufacturing technologies methods, and systems as appropriate, and ensure that newly created processes, designs, and/or methodologies are effective for the manufacturing team.
  • Effectively utilize common engineering technology and software packages for optimization of design & development activities.
  • Collaborate with supply chain to select, and qualify vendors, and evaluate on going quality and reliability in manufacturing and thru customer ownership.
  • Analyze manufacturing data and identify trends, anomalies, and opportunities for improvement; identify and utilize methods of making manufacturing process more efficient and effective (reducing waste, using lean and 6S practices).
  • Develop assembly and test layouts and overall factory layouts for safety, smooth flow, quality level achievement, utilization, cost efficiency, and visual factory.       
  • Monitor and evaluate workflow and assembly methods and make recommendations for process improvements. Drive transparency and improvement on cost and capability through data analytics, including cycle time analysis and resource capacity modelling (CRP)
  • Ensure manufacturability to consistent quality of finished product ensuring customer, statutory, standards, and internal requirements are met or exceeded.
  • Preform ISO 9001 management representative duties. Collaborate with Quality and Manufacturing ensuring all QMS process are defined, effectively deployed and continually kept up.
  • Direct corrective action of any manufacturing problems that may arise; work with Quality Manger in development and implementation of corrective and preventative actions (CAPA).
  • Collaborate with the engineering team to implement product engineering changes while participating in ECO/ECR process. Ensure that the company’s document control process is implemented and remains effective as well as contractor compliance/safety sites.
  • Prepare and present project proposals and scenarios for executive decision making and approval.
  • Liaison with Finance for budgeting cycles, norm reviews and long-term capacity planning Liaison with Facilities for space requirements over time (sqm/utilities).

  • Experience with decision making processes at senior stakeholder level in complex organizations.
  • Expertise in operations processes in a manufacturing environment.
