Engineering Project Manager - Where Robotics and Automation drive advances in Biological Sciences
Greater Boston ( North Shore )

The Project Manager is responsible for managing the device engineering project portfolio and 1-2 large scale development projects simultaneously. Project portfolio consists of project intake and scheduling to capture resource utilization and communicate appropriate commitment dates. Portfolio consists of 10-15 active projects at any given time. Large scale development projects will require organization of a cross functional team to navigate internal product realization process/phase gates.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage multiple projects and resources is crucial.
  • Serve as a mediator to internal issues and conflicting priorities for teams focused on delivery of products to customers.
  • Organize activities interdepartmentally to ensure on-time delivery.
  • Work closely with sales team to ensure product/projects are implemented per specification.

Qualifications:

Professional Skills Required:

  • Ability to control project scope; create and manage timeline of project deliverables and milestones; provide on-going status updates, and manage budget relative to the established baseline
  • Experience with hardware product development lifecycles preferred
  • Serve as primary liaison between internal customers and stakeholders for on-time deliveries
  • Strong multidisciplinary and technical background
  • Ability to clearly articulate project risk while coordinating and communicating appropriate mitigation strategies
  • Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills with ability to communicate to all levels of the organization
  • Ability to multitask and communicate priorities that align with commitments

Preferred Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline
  • Exceptional skills with MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, MS Project
  • 3+ years of PMO/PM experience, managing multiple stakeholders
  • 3+ years of project portfolio experience
  • Expert in Microsoft Project/Project Web App

Optional Certification and Experience:

  • Project Web App experience a plus
  • Six Sigma, Lean or similar process improvement certifications
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification
  • Jira/Confluence Atlassian
  • Enterprise resource planning (ERP)
