Controller
This is role is Hybrid: Remote 4 days/week. In-Office 1 day/week

The ideal candidate will have experience in accounting in a startup environment, with a proven ability to develop a finance department. Seeking someone looking to grow their career and use their expertise to rebuild the foundation of the finance department. You will provide consistent and accurate financial reporting to improve stakeholder financial decision-making. A self-starter that can work collaboratively across all departments to meet organizational objectives.

Their growing with 9 locations and looking to bring more expertise to the management team to improve their accounting practices and develop the finance team. Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Business Administration required.
  • Ten years or more of related experience is required.
  • Certified Public Accountant or Certified Management Accountant designation preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Oversees the operations of the Finance Department, which include accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank reconciliations, and payroll.
  • Direct manager of the finance team.
  • Directs the work of the finance team to meet the organization's objectives.
  • Maintains a documented system of accounting policies and procedures; implements a system of controls over accounting transactions to minimize risk.
  • Oversees the production of periodic financial reports; ensures that the reported results comply with generally accepted accounting principles or international financial reporting standards.
  • Recommends benchmarks that will be used to measure the company's performance.
  • Produces the annual budget and forecasts; reports significant budget differences to management.
  • Works with department leads to establish budgets.
  • Maintains automated expense management systems.
  • Provides financial analysis, emphasizing capital investments, pricing decisions, and contract negotiations for our stakeholders.
  • Meets with partners regularly to ensure financial transparency expectations are met.
  • Works with external auditors and provides needed information for the annual audit.
  • Files quarterly and annual reports with the Securities and Exchange Commission.
  • Ensures compliance with local, state, and federal government requirements.
