Position Summary:
In this role, you will thrive in a fast-paced environment and effectively manage multiple priorities. The ideal candidate will demonstrate exceptional judgment and possess strong communication, organizational, and financial skills. Discretion and diplomacy regarding sensitive information will be paramount.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the month-end close process with ownership of the general ledger and financial statements
- Assist with international accounting for Europe and Asia-Pacific entities and consolidation into corporate results
- Prepare and present monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports
- Review and analyze consolidated financial statements, general ledgers, and balance sheet reconciliations
- Assist in cash flow budgeting, forecasting, and daily monitoring of management entities
- Oversee Payroll Manager who is responsible for domestic and international employee payrolls
- Manage and oversee the Accounts Payable process to ensure timely payments of invoices and address invoice-related inquiries
- Maintain tax and accrual records for the management company, and management company investments, including local/state tax filings
- Mentor team members ( 3 - 5) to enhance their professional growth
- Support special projects including process improvements and financial system upgrades/implementations
- Oversee annual audits and liaise with the external audit firm (Big 4)
- Assist in the tax return preparation process by coordinating with the CPA firm
- Engage in additional ad hoc projects and reporting as necessary
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, advanced degree a plus
- 6-10 years of relevant experience in Corporate Accounting
- Holds an active CPA license is a plus
- Prior experience in public accounting is a plus
- Prior experience in Private Equity, Real Estate, Professional Services, or Financial Services is strongly preferred
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, and strong analytical skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills to effectively engage with colleagues at all levels
- Experience with a major ERP system is desired
- experience working in the Private Equity or Real Estate sectors a Plus
- Experience with International Accounting NOT required – this can be taught
- Prior experience with TAX is a plus but is not required – this can be taught
