Windows and Exchange Administrator

Responsibilities

The Exchange and Windows Engineer will help manage and maintain as a member of a team these two technologies used.   The engineer’s role is to help ensure the stability, integrity, and efficient operation of these two technologies that support core organizational functions.

 

Exchange Role Specific Duties:

  • Provide day-today support to client email systems
  • Operating, managing, processing, provisioning, and troubleshooting of Exchange email systems, mobile and collaboration services.
  • Managing and operating email routing devices and services
  • Maintaining email distribution lists
  • Assist in management of server infrastructure
  • Provide email server migration support along with backup and disaster recovery
  • Designating alias addresses for end-user mailboxes
  • Troubleshoot , resolve, and document issues related to group mailboxes and distribution lists
  • Monitor server load and implement load balancing where appropriate
  • Knowledge and support of Group policy
  • Upgrade and replace server hardware where appropriate
  • Ensure Windows server availability compliance to Service Level Agreements
  • Promote and maintain server patch management practices
  • Troubleshoot and resolve mail routing issues that arise
  • Addressing operational system issues including file and share permissions, user accounts and installing applications
  • Provide DLP support within email environment
  • Plan, test, and execute disaster recovery processes as needed 
  • Troubleshoot , resolve, and document issues with S/MIME certificates and email encryption

 

Windows Role Specific Duties:

  • Provide end-user support by troubleshooting problems related to client developed applications used in the client and virtualized environments for on-site and remote users.
  • Operate, manage, provision, troubleshoot, and document Windows environment
  • Using and updating Active Directory and group policy.
  • Manage user profiles.
  • Evaluate and escalate the ticket to the correct department.
  • Manage AD Administration
  • Monitor server load and implement load balancing where appropriate
  • Knowledge and support of Group policy
  • Upgrade and replace server hardware where appropriate
  • Ensure availability compliance to Service Level Agreements
  • Manage VDI assignments and user sessions using VMware and Citrix Xen center.
  • Connect Citrix server through VPN remote access.
  • Promote and maintain patch management practices
  • Address operational system issues including file and share permissions, user accounts and installing applications
  • Plan, test, and execute disaster recovery processes as needed 

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or equivalent experience
  • Ability to interact with both non-technical users and highly technical users (Good customer service skill)
  • Flexible, detail-oriented, with excellent analytical, and communication skills.
  • Strong work ethic and ability to self-manage tasks.
  • Experience with web- based ticketing systems. (Preferably Service Now)
  • Experience with formal change management practices
  • Experience working in a team approach with internal and off-shore support contractors
  • Microsoft Systems Center Operations Manager (SCOM).
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Active Office Suite Directory and Teams
  • Experience with Manage AD SSO
  • Experience with Microsoft Azure Iaas and Paas

 

  • Exchange side:
    • 2+ years of relevant working experience with Microsoft Exchange
    • Knowledge of Exchange migrations on-premise, Office365, and hybrid environments
    • MSCE certification preferred
    • Excellent understanding of all Microsoft Server versions from server 2008-2019
    • Demonstrated knowledge and experience with Microsoft Server and related technologies including Exchange 2010 and Exchange mail systems.
    • Understanding of Microsoft Skype and Microsoft Teams
