Master Planning and Scheduling Manager

 Master Planner and Scheduler – exciting hands-on, managment level opportunity to join a high technology robotics leader. Salary to $130K plus bonus, a generous health insurance plan, additional competitive benefits including a matching 401K and an exciting and  collaborative work environment. 

The Master Planner and Scheduler Manager will be responsible for driving purchasing and production planning for the Company. This role is critical to successful inventory management and production planning to meet customer demands. The Master Planner and Scheduler will be responsible for the MRP and ERP systems and direct all raw material purchases and to ensure production meets order demands. This person will have ownership of the data that drives purchasing and production. He/she will be responsible for the accuracy and integrity of the data. These duties include production planning to optimize inventory turns, improving on time performance and reducing demands on working capital. This role will be responsible for improving system standards and developing and implementing processes to improve order entry, change orders, reporting, and collaboration communicating. This role will ensure internal customers, capital projects, and the interests of the company are supported with superior processes, programs and relevant market intelligence. This individual will work collaboratively with Procurement, Production, Sales, Finance and Engineering departments.

This position will report to the Senior Director of Robotic Manufacturing and will manage work of a Senior Production Control Planner

Master Planner and Scheduler Manager Responsibilities and Deliverables:


  • Team Development – train and mentor existing and new staff to achieve predictable high performance
  • Sourcing and Inventory Planning
  • Leverage long-range plans, sales projections and operational planning process to ensure customer demands are scheduled to meet on time delivery
  • Work with Sales and Sourcing to integrate internal forecasts and SLOT plans to project inventory needs using MISys and Excel as planning system
  • Implement ERP process and drive continuous improvement
  • Generate demand and supply plans for all components and assemblies, both make and buy

Production Planning

  • Analyzes and maintains master schedule and slot plan
  • Create and maintains monthly metrics against master schedule/slot plan
  • Develop and implement process documentation and continuous improvement for production planning business processes. In support of ISO certification
  • Create exception reporting tools for suppliers, planners and production
  • Ensure integrity of MPS and MRP
  • Ensure timely supply of materials to support production plan
  • Manage production BOM and ECO activity and communicate to operation team members

Skills Required:

Expert knowledge of implementation of planning, and master scheduling processes (MPS, MRP, ERP), engineering change and change request processes. Excellent communication skills to clearly, comfortably and effectively provide direction and articulate critical business information and updates

Experience Required

  • 15+ years of experience in a supply chain/purchasing role in a manufacturing environment.
  • Industry experience: Semiconductor Capital Equipment, Motors, Robotics, Medical Device
  • 10 years of ERP Systems experience on QuickBooks, MiSys, Epicor and Excel
  • Previous companywide Epicor implementation and integration
  • Working knowledge and experience in Lean Manufacturing Techniques
  • Strong computer skills, advanced MS Office skills
  • Experience leading & motivating a high performing team
  • The ability to work within a small team and manage multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Is flexible and adaptable to changes in priority
  • Physical & Safety Requirements: Normal office environment

Education Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree required preferably in Supply Chain Management, Operations Management or related field. MBA preferred
  • APICS Certified Production, Inventory, and Materials Management (CPIM) Certification is preferred
