Disaster Recovery Analyst

Responsibilities

The Disaster Recovery Analyst assess and plan all aspects of our disaster recovery program. The Disaster Recovery Analyst is to oversee the maintenance and cohesive design of our disaster recovery plans all subject to review and validation testing.

Responsibilities, Duties, and Accountabilities:

  • Create and maintain disaster recovery plans and help facilitate disaster recovery testing
  • Act as liaise with the IT technical staff to ensure disaster recovery solutions are prepared, acceptable, maintained, and tested as part of a consistent operational life cycle
  • Work closely with Business continuity and risk management team members to help ensure DR alignment to BCP including third party providers
  • Collaborate with legal team on customer contracts regarding DR SLAs
  • Develop, maintain, enhance metrics & reporting dashboards to communicate status, dependencies and risks of various DR activities
  • Maintain repository of DR supporting documentation to be discussed and presented to IT audit for validation
  • Assist in coordinate DR activities in the event of an actual disaster recovery

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent
  • 2-5 years of technology Disaster Recovery program experience
  • Minimum of 2 years doing project management &  formal change management processes
  • Experience and familiarity with cloud service designs (IaaS, PaaS, SaaS),  in particular DRaaS
  • Experience and familiarity with backups and replication processes
  • Experience in gathering and help presenting DR control evidence to IT audit
  • Knowledge of DR related tools such as Assurance, Service Now, and Jira a plus
  • General work related requirements include:
    • Excellent oral and written communication
    • Excellent customer service skills
    • Convene & manage meetings – agenda, participants, deliverables along with communicating and resolving important issues
    • Ability to work independently with minimal direction
    • Ability to speak in front of a group and clearly describe how DR functions are executed
    • Established proficiency using MS office applications (Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Word)
